Since finishing the school year and completing several embroidery projects, I am finally getting back to researching Seid. This topic is very interesting because it gives us a deeper insight into the people of the Norse regions and their beliefs. Growing up in a Catholic/Christian home, religion has been a part of my life since day 1. However, attending Catholic school for 17+ years and witnessing different events in my life, made me question why? The other thing that my life has had was access to multiple religions, whether it was attending Passover with the Jewish doctors my mom worked with or my marketing teacher in college that happened to be Sikh. I have always had a desire to ask questions and realizing that how and why people believe what they do, I have grown in appreciation for having faith but not being limited to the belief that my religion was the only one. I LOVE researching other religions and how most beliefs are similar. With this I enjoy learning about how the Seid women (and a few men) were respected and honored. But, I also, love finding out about what the beliefs were. I will continue to update my page with information that I am learning about the topic.
I have also sent my paper into the Tournaments Illuminated a publication by the Society of Creative Anachronism. I look forward to seeing this in print. Hopefully soon.
