This is my very first blog entry. I decided to create this website and blog to help me with some of the creative items that I am working on. I think that it allow me to work through the process in which I use to decide on projects. I have been doing needle work since I was 5. My grandmother told me that it was something that all young ladies needed to know how to do, so she taught me. I really think she did it to keep me from bugging her while she worked aroung the house (especially when she was making cakes and candies). My favortie were her homemade peanut bitter cups (which she would make double because I would eat half the batch before she could share them)....lol....However, I do have to say that this is a skill that I am happy to have. I have been able to create many beautiful pictures and "pieces" that decorate both my home, family members homes, and outfits. I am well versed in free embroidery as well as counted cross-stitch.
I love teaching people how to do various styles of embroidery and I am always willing to embrace a challange for myself. As a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), I have been given a new outlet for my work. Joining this group has given me a place where I am able share what I love with others. I look forward to trying new things and pushing myself to try new things.
